Smooth Cotton Rag

• Smooth matte finish without sheen or reflection

Great for portraits, natural scenes, or any artwork where textures just don’t fit in or surface sheen gets in the way.

The matte surface well when framed behind glass.

Textured Cotton Rag

• Light, moderate or heavy textures available (as shown)
• Tactile feel and dimensionality

Light textures add some dimensionality without overpowering the image.

I feel moderate textures work best on images with some open space, but feel free to use our own creativity here.

Heavy textures become an important part of the artwork, you’ll probably know when to consider them.

Semi-Gloss Cotton Rag

• Essentially a coated version of Smooth Cotton Rag
• Satin finish with a light organic texture
• A solid choice for general photography

Worth considering when:

• The subject matter would suit a more reflective surface
• Your image relies on impactful depth in the darker tones
• The image will be physically handled a lot
• Or if you just like it 🙂

Baryta

• Defined by a crisp white Baryta surface
• Satin, gloss or matte surfaces (satin shown)
• Cotton or alpha cellulose fibre base

Worth considering for:

• Images with high contrast, deep blacks, texture or fine details
• Black & White
